THE RELEASE
This morning the Department of War published the fifth tranche of declassified UAP records at war.gov/UFO. Forty-one records: 22 documents, three images, and 16 videos. We mirrored the set within the hour.
The videos are the smallest batch yet. Fourteen minutes total, less than a sitcom episode, against the four hours and 16 minutes Release 04 dumped a month ago. That is not a criticism. It is a signal about where the substance moved.
This time the documents are the story.

Chapter markers jump to each clip. We added nothing but those markers and our standard bumper. The footage is unedited public-domain U.S. Government work. No narration. No enhancement. No commentary laid over the top.
What is in it: five 2019 Pacific Ocean clips the Navy’s UAP Task Force handed to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office in 2022. Four infrared sensor passes from the Middle East. One FBI thermal video from the western United States this year. And six separate recordings of a single event over the Gulf of Oman on September 8, 2021, which is the most unusual thing about the video set. Six angles of one incident is rare in this archive. Most releases give you one camera and one pass.
We will be straight about the evidence quality, because that is the job. Most of these clips are what the records themselves call secondary captures. Somebody filmed a screen with a phone instead of exporting the sensor feed. That degrades what anyone can honestly conclude from them, and we would rather say so than sell you a cellphone video of a monitor as proof of anything.
THE SHAPE
The document set is where Release 05 earns attention.
The FBI published a cluster of FD-302 forms, the Bureau’s standard witness interview record, the same instrument used to document testimony in federal criminal cases. The subject lines read like a single sentence typed across twenty-four years.
“Airborne Lights and Triangle,” 2002. “Dark Triangle with Lights,” 2011. “Dark Translucent Triangle,” 2023. “Large Triangle with Red Lights,” 2023. Two more 2026 cases filed as “Multiple Red Lights,” each with its own digital rendering. Several of the older reports carry renderings as well, drawings the FBI commissioned to visualize what the witness described.
A triangular craft, dark, silent, often with lights at the points. It is the single most-reported UAP configuration in the civilian record and has been since the Phoenix Lights in 1997 and the Belgian wave before that. The government has spent three decades declining to engage with it.
Release 05 puts the Bureau’s own interview forms on the public record instead. Not an assessment. Not a conclusion. The raw witness statements, in the format the FBI uses when it takes testimony seriously.
THE ARCHIVE
The historical material in this release runs deeper than usual, and it reaches back before Roswell.
There is a 1947 intelligence review of the “Ghost Rocket” incidents, the wave of unidentified objects reported over Scandinavia in 1946 that the U.S. and Sweden both investigated as possible Soviet weapons tests. There is a 1947 Air Materiel Command report on unidentified flying objects, from the same command that would run Project Sign a year later. There is a 1953 film analysis of unidentified objects.
And there are the Brazil files. Two State Department diplomatic cables from November 1963, plus an Executive Office of the President inquiry into an incident at Bahia, Brazil on November 13, 1963. A UAP event that generated diplomatic traffic and reached the level of the National Aeronautics and Space Council, nine days before Dallas.

THE SENTINEL ASSESSMENT:
Release 05 inverts the pattern. Four previous tranches led with video and buried the paper. This one hands over 14 minutes of mostly secondhand footage and 22 documents that include the FBI’s own witness interview forms describing the same triangular craft in 2002, 2011, 2023, and twice in 2026. Twenty-four years of testimony in the format the Bureau uses for federal cases, published without an assessment attached. The government is not telling you what the triangles are.
