But nature absolutely *does* do this. it’s called a bifurcation point. it what happens when seed first sprouts or enough debris collects in a river for the specific current to shift course. if anyone is interested, look up Prigogine’s Theory of Dissipative Structures in Non-equilibrium Thermodynamics. I think he won a Nobel Prize for it.
