The war, the power of the energy structure, the strength around the globe all has to do with energy monopoly, logistics, and tribe. Those three things being equal, which fusion energy, friction free/or not affected by gravity movement, and seeing all of earth as one species combined versus a bunch of little tribes, which would definitely happen if we met Life forms that were not like us, would collapse power structures around the world instantly.
On the pursuit angle, it would be interesting to understand how Dr. William A. Gardner came to be informed of Ryder's death. That appears, at least from research presented in The Architect, to be the sole signal suggesting he is no longer around.
Similarly, have insurance companies paid out anything? Were they told officially? Does Ryder remain on any voter rolls (probable)? Has there been any activity of linked accounts since 2018? A man who a single source announces as dead has a bit of a burden of proof, when that man exists within a constellation of dead (substantiated) and "missing under strange circumstance that look like escape-and-evasion if you squint a bit".

Thanks for the info from Japan. One might think what with the current US administration not seeming all that concerned about Russian giving satellite images to Iran which may have resulted in the death or wounding of our troops and the firing of so many counter-intelligence personnel that it's not that far of a stretch to think a foreign adversary like Russia might want to disappear or even capture these folks? If Japan had an inkling of something like that it would make sense it would be a big concern for them as well.

Well there has been a serious up tic in atmospheric fireballs this month (NASA says 600% over the mean but they only include reports with over 100 sightings and only the US so the real number is likely higher, maybe significantly so) and the timing lines up exactly with what was predicted as we’re currently passing through/intersecting with where the “traditional” debris field would be.
Assuming that part is true, wouldn’t the simplest answer be that this really is just a weird yet natural interstellar body that formed long ago in conditions that didn’t resemble our current local sapce climate?
